A diagnosis of dementia affects an entire family. And more and more Delta families are being affected.

That's why the non-profit Alzheimer Society of B.C. is offering a free education session for family members in Delta who are caring for a person with dementia.

Understanding Communication, on Tuesday, July 18, will provide an understanding of how communication is affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

Participants will explore effective ways of facilitating communication and providing support to the person with dementia.

The workshop runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Deltassist's North Delta office, 9097 Scott Rd. Preregistration is required by calling 604-449-5000 or emailing [email protected].
