Tribute artists are bringing A Rock 'n' Roll Christmas to Genesis Theatre in Ladner next week.

Concert-goers will be able to hear the sounds of Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Fats Domino and Brenda Lee at the upcoming show.

The performers will incorporate some Christmas songs into their sets as well as the star artists' top hits, notes Zachary Stevenson, an actor, singer and songwriter who will perform as Buddy Holly.

"It's going to be really fun," he says. "So much of the Christmas music that we still listen to is from that era, from the '50s," says Stevenson, adding that Christmas is about tradition.

"People like to put up the same decorations on the tree," he said.

"They've got their holiday favourites with food and [other things]. Music is no different. People like to hear those classic songs." Along with some Buddy Holly-ized Christmas songs, Stevenson says he'll sing Peggy Sue and That'll Be the Day but also add a couple tunes he hasn't done before (like Tell Me How) "just to switch it up a little."

The show will also feature the Memphis Beats Rock 'n' Roll Band.

"I think it's going to be a rockin' good time, as per usual," he says.

Stevenson was part of another show at Genesis in October presented by the Legends of Rock 'n' Roll.
