Community support continues to roll-in – this time from the Delta Agricultural Society – to support the future of long-term care in Delta.

The Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation has announced that the Delta Agricultural Society has made an extraordinary $1 million donation to support the Foundation’s $18.25 million ‘Coming Home’ Campaign for the new Beedie Long Term Care Centre, which will replace Mountain View Manor.

According to the Foundation, since 1993, the Delta Agricultural Society has consistently supported the DHCH Foundation by contributing funding to support capital projects and essential equipment needs, now exceeding $3 million.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Delta Agricultural Society for their exceptional leadership and unwavering generosity towards the new Long Term Care project,” said DCHF executive director Lisa Hoglund. “Their continued support plays a pivotal role in transforming seniors’ care within our community. We are truly humbled by their commitment to the Delta Hospital Campus of Care.”

Founded in 1888 by a group of local farmers, the Delta Agricultural Society initially focused on improving farming practices, land cultivation, and livestock breeding in the Delta region.

Over time, their commitment has expanded beyond agriculture, making them a significant benefactor for the broader Delta community.

Their substantial financial contributions have positively impacted various community groups, facilities, and vital projects.
