An Abbotsford man is facing 13 charges in connection to a hit-and-run accident in Ladner that injured five men last June.

According to Delta police, the man is alleged to have intentionally driven his vehicle into a group of pedestrians at the 5300 block of 48A Ave., in the early morning hours of June 11, 2017, hitting five males, causing serious injury to two of them, and minor injuries to the rest. The driver apparently then fled the scene without stopping.

DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf said investigation has revealed that the driver was believed to have been in a physical altercation at a nearby pub with some or all of the men who were latter struck by the vehicle.

“Police resources from patrol, major crime, and forensics, as well as a traffic collision analyst dealt with multiple scenes and many witnesses and victims while investigating this incident,” said Leykauf, adding all of the injured men are expected to make a full recovery.

A warrant was issued for Patrick John Scott McIntre, 20, in April. He was arrested April 14, in Langley, and is facing three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, five counts of assault with a weapon and, five counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

He has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in Surrey provincial court on June 12.
