A Delta woman was last week named FedEx Canada's Courier of the Year.

Cheryl Brodie, who lives in Delta and works in Richmond, received the sixth annual Courier of the Year Award, which recognizes couriers that have demonstrated commitment and a superior customer experience.

More than 5,500 Canadians placed their votes for their favourite couriers and after tabulating the results, Brodie was chosen as one of four award recipients.

The couriers were evaluated in several categories - knowledge, reliability, helpfulness, proficiency, timeliness and amiability.

Each award recipient received an extra week of paid vacation and $500 cash.

Brodie has worked for FedEx since 2005.

"With Cheryl's pleasing personality, strong work ethic and enthusiasm, it's no doubt that she is a recipient of this award," said Cameron Barker-Fyfe, Brodie's senior manager.

"She is exactly what every customer is looking for and we at FedEx Express Canada are proud to work with her."
