Delta police are investigating what is believed to be a clandestine lab in the 11100 block of 85th Ave. in North Delta.

A number of items were seized by Delta police on Saturday after a possible clandestine lab was discovered in North Delta.

Officers were checking on the welfare of a man May 19, which led to the discovery of a potential clandestine lab in the 11100 block of 85 Avenue in North Delta.

Police executed a search warrant in the area, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, with assistance from the RCMP Federal Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) team, and Delta Fire Department. A number of items were seized, and have been sent for analysis.

According to DPD, one man was arrested, but has since been released without charges.

“Based on a preliminary investigation, police do not believe the safety of neighbouring residents was at risk,” said DPD public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf.

Investigation into the matter continues.
