The Vancouver weather forecast includes several days of climbing temperatures in the second week of May.
V.I.A.'s Downtown Centre Weatherhood station shows a high of 14 C and a low of 6 C with clearing skies on Tuesday, May 7. Temperatures may climb up about a degree on Wednesday, with a high of 15 C and a low of 8 C expected (see slide two).
Thursday's forecast includes a dramatic shift to warmer weather, with a high of 23 C and a low of 10 C expected in the downtown core. Friday is expected to be even hotter, with a high of 25 C and a low of 14 C.
The weekend looks sunny and warm, with a high of 24 C and 20 C expected on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Other Vancouver neighbourhoods are expected to see similar trends, although some areas may see slightly warmer or cooler daytime highs. For instance, Granville Island may see temperatures climb to 26 C on Friday while the Trout Lake area may soar to a toasty 27 C.
A look at the spring weather forecast for Metro Vancouver
Environment Canada meteorologist Brian Proctor told V.I.A. in a previous interview that El Niño's influence has impacted typical weather patterns in the Lower Mainland over the winter, producing drier than normal and milder conditions.
But the weather phenomenon's impact should start to wane into June, meaning locals should brace for typical "Juneuary" blues.
May, June, and July are expected to be "warmer than average" in Metro Vancouver but June should still see some trademark rain.
