Everyone wants it, but nobody wants to pay for it.

Here we are in the middle of July and we have had maybe one or two days in the twenties? My tomatoes look anemic and my basil is stunted.

Editor: Re: Mayor makes it three in race, July 6 So we now read that our mayor intends to seek re-election, and she has already indicated in the Optimist quotes what her intentions are: she wants to move forward, not backwards.

I wonder how many Delta residents know that their local government has hired a social media consultant to put the municipality on Facebook and Twitter. The contract was for six months and pays $20,000.

Editor: Re: 'Hidden jewel' gets polishing, July 6 I hope the mayor doesn't get too enthusiastic with her "polishing" efforts. Granted we do need a new concession stand.

A couple of years back we vowed we were finally going to visit Buntzen Lake after hearing good reviews about it from so many different people.
