After a weekend blast of winter weather, expected to last the remainder of the week, Delta’s extreme weather shelter has been activated.
The shelter, which is located at the Ladner United Church (4960 48 Ave.) is open from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and will remain open for the rest of the week.
Volunteers are on hand to offer a warmer clothes, a hot meal, hot shower if they like and a bed for the night.
Volunteers are always needed and appreciated to help with set-up for an hour on the evenings in which the shelter is open or for clean-up when the shelter closes at 7 a.m. and there have been guests.
