On Friday, March 4, the Chaos Monkeys played to a packed house to raise money for Deltassist.
As president of the Deltassist Board, I attended the event to support the band and thank them for helping us out.
For a donation at the door, I was treated to four very talented teenagers who stood in front of a packed house with confidence and energy. I was incredibly impressed by how great they sounded, made only more fun by having other friends join them on stage for guest appearances.
I had been asked to say a few words during the intermission, and having had a long day already, I decided I'd stay until I heard a song I didn't recognize.
They played songs from Pink, AC/DC, the Monkeys, Adele, songs I recognized but couldn't name the band, and my personal favourite, the Beatles.
You don't hear Dear Prudence live that often. There was no way I was leaving until the final encore ended.
They said they were tired of practicing and wanted to headline a show, and they didn't disappoint.
They were polished and professional. They played every song they knew. And I knew all the songs too.
The house was packed with people of all ages.
Not only was it a great night, they raised over $300 for Deltassist.
Thanks, Chaos Monkeys!
On behalf of the Board, staff and clients of Deltassist.
