A fall volunteer training program will take place at the Harold & Veronica Savage Centre for Supportive Care in Ladner starting Oct. 13, running Monday and Thursday mornings until Nov. 17. If you are interested in becoming a trained Delta Hospice volunteer, please call coordinator of volunteers, Chris Colero at 604-948-0660. A pre-course interview will be scheduled so that participants will have a clear understanding of the course and the expected commitments.

?Tsawwassen United Church will hold a Fall Fair on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 69353rd St. (across from high school). Baking, crafts, pies, Grannies Attic, food and much more.

?A local Volkssport club is hosting a non-competitive 5km/10km walk in Ladner on Saturday, Oct. 15. Free for new participants. For more info, contact Verni at 604-682-8390.

?All Saints Health Ministry presents Wills and Estate Planning with Dan Boisvert, notary public, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 15 at All Saints Hall, 4755 Arthur Dr., Ladner. By donation only and refreshments will be served.

?On Saturday, Oct. 15 there will be a monthly jewelry, watches and 'designer collection' for sale at Hospice Cottage Thrift Store, from 9: 30 a.m. to 4 p.m., 1521-56th St., Tsawwassen.

?Family Grief Group Program - Children & Parents: Dr. Heather Mohan, RCC, will be holding a Children's Grief Group for children 5 to 12 years old who are grieving the death of a parent, sibling, grandparent or other significant person. A Parent's Grief Group, facilitated by Marg Fletcher, RCC, will be held at the same time. The groups, starting Oct. 18, run on Tuesdays from 4: 30 to 6 p.m. every other week throughout the school year. All participants must pre-register in advance by calling Heather Mohan at the Supportive Care at 604-948-0660.

?The next regular meeting of the South Delta Low Vision support group will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 1: 30 p.m. held in the Ladner Pioneer Library - 47th Ave., Ladner. Guest speaker will be Orv. Jantzen of Clarity Canada, specialists in magnification equipment. We welcome all low vision persons and families.

?Shop early for Christmas presents you won't find anywhere else. The Fall Collectible Sale at the Delta Hospital Auxiliary's Ladner Thrift Shop (4816 Delta Street) is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 19. The main store is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the new time for the overflow space is 9 a.m. Call 9461455 for more information or to donate collectible items.

?The Probus Club of South Delta, a non-profit fellowship club for retired and semi-retired professional and business people will hold its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday Oct. 19 in The Coast Tsawwassen Inn. Our speaker is Ian Robertson, well known as a speaker and writer on local community affairs. Guests welcome.

?The fifth annual Charitable Pub Night Fundraiser, sponsored by Ladner and Richmond Jazzercise, is set for Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Sundance Pub banquet hall, 6574 Ladner Trunk Rd. ?Artist Vern Hansler has a show of boats and landscape paintings at the Tsawwassen Library. The show runs until Oct. 30.
