A group from Tsawwassen has made the finals of CBC's Cover Me Canada.

The Simpson Brothers, comprised of Rich and Rob Simpson (21-year-old identical twins), Evan Findlay and Bryson Dodwell, are up against seven of the other "best undiscovered bands in the country," the TV show's website states.

The show, which has competitors performing covers of songs from Canadian artists, debuted last Sunday and the local group played Loverboy's Working for the Weekend.

"It was the fastest minute and a half of our lives. Everything went according to plan and people liked the harmonies and we got a really good review from the judges. Overall, we're pretty pleased with how everything went," says Rich.

They're next song will be Perfect by Hedley, a rock band from B.C.

"We're looking forward to putting our own unique spin on it," says Rob.

He says the group is excited to be where it's at in the competition.

"It's sort of a testament to the fact that big things really can happen to people who live in small towns like Tsawwassen."

The brothers teamed up with Findlay and Dodwell not too long before heading to Toronto for the competition.

"We grabbed them and said, 'Guys, we have a huge opportunity here,'" notes Rich.

The show's winner will receive a $100,000 cash prize, a recording contract for their first original single to be released by Universal Music Canada and featured airplay of the single on CBC Radio 2.
