Artists in the Village Society members will get a chance to let their work shine tomorrow at a show and sale in Ladner.

SHINE will feature artwork from about 25 members of the local group. That will include paintings, encaustic pieces, photography, pottery and woodwork, says Artists in the Village co-founder and vice-president Megan MacDonald.

Artists like Victoria Heryet, Gary Fox, Linda Jones and photographer Sharon Wright will be some of those with work in the show, she says.

There will be "a real nice variety of different work, in different sizes as well," she says.

About half of the artists plan to be in attendance at the show, says MacDonald.

"That's one of the things we wanted to work on, is having the artists being able to connect with the people in the community, so they can talk about their work and people can get to know and understand it better, and get a nice connection with it as well." MacDonald and Shirley Maurice, the group's volunteer coordinator and secretary, will both have some encaustic pieces at the show. Maurice will also display some of her jewelry.

The show and sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ladner United Church, 4960-48th Ave. There will be tea and coffee.
