Charismatic Canadian singer/songwriter/producer Pedwell has just released an ambitious new EP that's already inspiring listeners to put their stamp on the world.
Pedwell's Get That Thing! is reminiscent of Justin Timberlake's FutureSexLoveSounds and Everlast's Eat At Whitey's. His unique new sound fuses aspects of both rock and hip-hop to produce a genre that Pedwell has deemed "urban rock."
Get That Thing! is a six-song EP combining Pedwell's influences of The Guess Who, The Beach Boys, Metallica, Sublime, 2pac and Justin Timberlake into a unique blend of acoustic rock and hip-hop.
Produced by Danny Craig (Default), Get That Thing! explores new sonic territory for Pedwell with a focus on acoustic guitars, big hooks and memorable harmonies.
Born and raised in South Delta, Bradley Pedwell raised the funds for Get That Thing! in less than 12 hours via a crowd-funding campaign.
Over the next year, the eclectic songwriter wrote 100-plus songs, spent his weekends on public transit, grew out his hair, bruised his heel bone and got in a near-fatal car accident. It all resulted in the six memorable songs, including the title track, Get That Thing!
"This EP started out as me recording my six best songs, and it evolved into a change in my sound, and ultimately, my attitude," said Pedwell. "You find a thing you love and you get that thing."
