Police are investigating a possible homicide after a man experiencing homelessness was found dead in Maple Ridge.

Randy Semotiuk, 31, was reported missing by community partners to the RCMP after having not been seen for several days.

On April 17, police officers found a deceased man in the 19800-block Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows. The man was confirmed to be Semotiuk.

"Injuries observed by the members lead them to believe the man was the victim of a homicide," says Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

"Investigators will remain in the area canvassing for witnesses and collecting evidence throughout the week as we work to build a timeline of events that led to Mr. Semotiuk's untimely death," says Pierotti.

Anyone who witnessed what happened or has information is asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 or  [email protected].
