A Richmond man charged with four counts of secretly recording a naked woman has pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice.

Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Ellen Gordon asked Tabito Mita, 54, how he pleaded to the charge involving destruction or concealing evidence before he entered the plea.

He was charged with two counts of secretly observing or recording nudity in a private place and two counts of secretly observing or recording for a sexual purpose.

The date of the alleged events is June 13, 2021 in Richmond.

The guilty plea came on the fifth count, that of wilfully attempting to obstruct, pervert or defeat the course of justice through the destruction or concealing of evidence.

A joint submission on sentencing from the Crown and defence lawyer Rachel Wood suggested a conditional sentence order be imposed.
