On a cold Saturday morning in early November, the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen was ready to do its Polio Plus Drive Thru Flu Shots.

With a COVID plan in place and socially distanced jobs to do, everyone masked up and got going.  Rotary member Edwin Lee, a local pharmacist supported by his wife Vicki, a nurse, gave 102 flu shots.  The Rotarians, family and friends received their flu shots without ever getting out of the car.

The Tsawwassen Rotary Foundation Committee Chair, Linda Ding, used this event to qualify for the club Every Rotarian Every Year award. Each member was asked to donate a minimum of $35.  So far over $7,200 has been raised and there is still more to come.

The traffic crew directed participants to a parking lot to wait 15 minutes before driving away.  Here they received snacks, were entertained by masked Rotarians and they received their Polio plus pins.  The traffic crew had so much fun visiting with all the Rotarians, many whom they haven’t seen in person since March.
