Tsawwassen throwback: Remembering Sun Fest (PHOTOS)

Due to COVID-19, the long-running Tsawwassen Sun Festival which would have taken place this weekend had to be cancelled.

Let’s go back in time to check out the Sun Fest in 1981.

Such large gatherings are going to be on hold for the foreseeable future, unfortunately.

The City of Delta’s pandemic safety plan notes the most recent modelling and analysis provided by the provincial health officer suggests there is now an opportunity to try to better manage the ongoing transmission and a potential second wave of the pandemic by adopting a sustainable and more moderate public health strategy to carry us through to “community” immunity, through either gradual infection and/or immunization by vaccine.

When we can expect to see a return of festivals such the Sun Fest, Ladner Pioneer May Days and North Delta Family Day remains unclear.
