Here are a few events to check out this long weekend if you’re willing to travel beyond Delta’s borders.

 

* The 17th annual Korean Cultural Heritage Festival goes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday at Swangard Stadium. A K-pop contest is one of the highlights of the event. Admission is free.

* The Honda Celebration of Light wraps up Saturday at English Bay in Vancouver with a performance from the Daehan Firework Co.

* The Powell Street Festival, which has been celebrating Japanese Canadian arts and culture since 1977, takes place Saturday and Sunday. Visit http://www.powellstreetfestival.com/ for details.

* The Downtown Surrey BIA’s Movies under the Stars kicks off with Ferdinand on Saturday at Holland Park. Activities begin at 5 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk. Check out http://downtownsurreybia.com for more.
