The Delta Choral Society will cover a range of genres with its From Stage and Screen spring concert next Saturday in Tsawwassen.

Expect to hear “a little bit of everything” including jazz, gospel, classical and pop, explains artistic director Danielle Hamilton.

“We pretty much hit every genre in this show,” she says with a laugh.

Selections will range from tunes like the Pink Panther theme song, numbers from the computer-animated Disney film Moana, the Bugs Bunny theme song and music from the stage classic Les Miserables.

The society has recently grown to four choirs with its children’s group being divided into two. The Delta Children’s Choir includes youngsters from grades 1 to 4 while the Delta Youth Choir covers the older grades. The Delta Community Choir is a larger group open to all adults and the Delta Chamber Choir is a smaller auditioned group.

Hamilton notes the kids will perform together with the adults at times during the concert.

“You’re seeing sometimes onstage upwards of 150 people, which is awesome. The sound is pretty glorious,” she says.

The Delta Choral Society presents From Stage and Screen on Saturday, May 5. There will be performances at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the South Delta Baptist Church, 1988-56th St., Tsawwassen.

Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors while children under 12 get in for free.

Get tickets from www.deltachoral.ca, any choir member or LYFE Design Studio (1505-56th St.) in Tsawwassen.
