TV project lands development deal

Ladner stand-up comedian and actor Darcy Michael’s latest TV project has got a development deal.

“It’s pretty surreal,” says Michael.

The sitcom, titled Darcy, is about married couple, Darcy and Jeremy, and how they deal with marriage, money and family.

The show is very much drawing from his life and his standup, says Michael.

Michael is working with a writing partner on the show and says they’ve got one script down and a bunch to go. After July, Michael’s tour schedule slows down enough that they’ll be able set up a production office and really start cranking out the work, he says.

Production company Project 10 inked the development deal with Bell Media.

Michael was recently seen on the CTV sitcom Spun Out.
