If you would be interested in representing a volunteer-run aerodrome and working around heritage aircraft, the Delta Heritage Air Park may have just the position for you.

The aerodrome, located on the shore of Boundary Bay at the south end of 104 Street in Delta, was transformed into a hub for pilots in the early 1960s. A decade later, about 120 airplanes were based on what was then known as the Delta Air Park and in 1995 became the Delta Heritage Air Park. Today the air park is home to 60 aircraft, many of which are vintage models rarely seen at larger airports.

John Macready, chairman of the air park’s operating committee is looking for locals to be on the air park’s management committee and to help maintain the grounds and manage the property.

As the land is managed under a license agreement with Metro Vancouver Parks, Macready would like a local non-pilot volunteer to represent the air park’s interests.

“It would be nice to have somebody on our committee that was not affiliated with the aerodrome from a flying point of view or a club point of view,” Macready said.
