The 3rd Boundary Bay Cubs and Beavers raised more than $3,000 during their recent Apple Day, money that will go directly to programming, events and camps.

On this year’s Apple Day, the local troop paid thanks to Thrifty Foods for its ongoing partnership with the annual fundraiser.

Apple Day organizer Natalie Shantz says when she took on the event eight years ago the troop partnered with Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall and Thrifty Foods. Initially Thrifty Foods donated a gift card that was used to buy apples and each year it has increased its involvement to the point where it donated all the apples this year.

Cubs and Beavers were stationed throughout the mall and went through 14 cases of Ambrosia apples on Apple Day.

The troop presented store manager Ryan Bancroft and produce manager Dave McGregor with a certificate for eight years of Apple Day partnership.
