Deltassist’s Christmas programs are gearing up.

Staff and volunteers are gratefully accepting donations of toys and food for their annual toy depot and Christmas food hampers. Deltassist continues to rely on the overwhelming support of the community to meet the increasing need of low-income families, seniors, and individuals in Delta.

After a pandemic pause the past two years, this year’s toy depot will be held Dec. 13 to 15. Toys are needed for children from birth to 16 years of age. As always, the need is greatest for infants and teens. Christmas food hampers will be delivered by local service clubs on Saturday, Dec. 24. Items most needed include breakfast cereals, canned ham and chicken, canned hearty meals (stew), peanut butter, rice, pasta and sauce, hot chocolate and cookies.

Help Delta families and their children enjoy Christmas with food on the table and gifts under the tree. New, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items may be dropped off at Deltassist in North Delta at 9097 120th Street and in Ladner at #202 – 5000 Bridge Street, Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m.
