Benediction Lutheran Church is planning a special event later this month to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and the community is invited to share in the festivities.
On Sunday, Jan. 31, the church will host its regular 9 a.m. service. A special celebration service is planned for 2 p.m., which will be followed by a reception.
The event will include a presentation, including photos of the church throughout the years. Previous pastors and members of the congregation have also been invited to celebrate the church's anniversary.
The church serves many other uses in the community. Its facilities are used by many local groups and organizations, including the Delta Community Choir, the Delta Naturalists and various quilting groups.
Benediction Lutheran Church is at 5575-6th Ave. (corner of 56th Street) in Tsawwassen.
