Tsawwassen Mills Toastmasters Club is hosting their introductory afternoon meeting. Have fun in a safe environment, while you learn public speaking skills and leadership skills. Surrey Prostate Cancer Support Group, which covers Tsawwassen and Ladner, meeting: held last Saturday of every month (except July & December) at Valley View Memorial Gardens 14644–72nd Ave., 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 28. Heads up, teens! If you are in grades 10 to 12, why not earn seven volunteer hours on September’s Non-Instructional Day and learn how to protect yourself, your family and your friends in case of a disaster. Board Game Battle Royale, Thursday, Feb. 23, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Tsawwassen Library. It is time to get your game on! This is a do-or-die fast-paced game battle where participants sign up in pairs to compete in a speed dating-like style of game play. Don’t have a partner? Income tax season is coming soon and Deltassist is here to help low income Delta residents with a free income tax program. We will start to take appointments on Feb. 13 for income tax preparation sessions from March 1 through April 28, 2017. The New Tsawwassen Springs Tuesday Ladies Golf Club is accepting new members for the 2017 season. The season begins on April 11 at 9 a.m. The annual fee is $140 to join, that includes BC Golf, affiliation fee and prizes. FUND RAISERS

Shred-a-thon – Protect your identity and confidential information by bringing all your documents to be shredded by Urban Impact on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. behind the Tim Hortons in Tsawwassen. Delta Gymnastics athletes will assist you in removing boxes and bags from your vehicle. Donations accepted and will be used to assist athletes as they pursue their dreams to compete in western and national level competitions.

Gallery 1710 presents Take Five, an art show featuring Mary Ellen Bullock, Eileen Fong, Laurel Johnson, Lea Price and Marlene Strain, which kicks off on Jan. 25 and ends Feb. 5. An opening reception Saturday, Jan. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. features music by Steven Wright. Light refreshments will be served. Gallery 1710 is located at 1710-56th St., right beside the South Delta Recreation Centre. The show is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday.

The joy from music making is as close as McKee Senior Centre. Simply pay the $25 membership fee to belong to McKee Seniors Recreation Centre, 5155-47th Ave. Then come to Dogwood Room each Thursday from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. Come with your instrument to meet & play with other music lovers.
