Delta Hot Chocolate Fest: Sweet treats for a sweet cause

The Delta Hot Chocolate Fest is your chance to expand your hot chocolate and pastry horizons.

As true aficionados know, there’s more to hot chocolate than just adding warm milk to cocoa powder.

There’s hot chocolate so rich that you could almost stand a spoon in it. Or the extra creaminess of a whipped topping. You can also get creative with your spice rack.

The Delta Hot Chocolate Fest is your chance to expand your hot chocolate and pastry horizons. Better yet, for every chocolate treat sold at participating cafés and bakeries between Feb. 19 and March 23, vendors will donate $1 to the Reach Child and Youth Development Society.

“This festival is more than just enjoying treats; it’s about our community coming together to support each other and make a difference,” says festival organizer Jubail Sanchez.

Tamara Veitch is grateful that the festival is once again partnering with her organization to help kids with diverse needs.

“Thank you to the people and businesses in our community that continue to support Reach programs and make sure that children with extra needs are not left behind,” she says.

As you taste your way through the various offerings, make sure you vote for your favourite hot chocolate drink and pastry at southdeltalocal.ca, where you can also find details about the event.
