Electoral reform advocate Ian Macanulty will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the South Delta chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women.

President of the Vancouver chapter of Fair Vote Canada, Macanulty will explain the most commonly proposed alternative voting systems for Canada, including how they work and what effects they might have on the country. There will be time for questions and discussion throughout.

The meeting, set for Tuesday Feb. 28 at 7:15 p.m. at Benediction Lutheran Church, 5575-6th Ave., Tsawwassen, is open to the public. Membership in the Canadian Federation of University Women is open to women with a post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate, as well as postsecondary students. The chapter offers the opportunity to come together with other like-minded women to engage in advocacy on current issues, hear a variety of speakers, and join special interest groups for gourmet cooking, travelogues, book discussion, bridge and theatre.

The chapter also supports local women in furthering their education with scholarships and bursaries.

Its meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
