Birdwatching has come to the Tsawwassen Library with Let’s Discover Birds.

People of all ages can join staff on a nature walk through Highland Park, 5499 13a Avenue, South Delta, on Wednesday, May 24, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Birding is a relaxing and educational pastime the whole family can enjoy. This activity can provide a deeper understanding of ecology, biodiversity and the environment.

Crafting is included in this fun and interactive program too! While observing the birds at the park, participants will gather materials to create a bird’s nest craft at the library afterwards. (Foraging baskets provided.) Parents or guardians must accompany children. This program is appropriate for children ages three and up.

Registration is required. See the events page at: https://www.fvrl.bc.ca/.

If you catch the birding bug, place a hold on a birdwatching backpack. They are available for loan, free with your FVRL card. Birdwatching supports STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) through observation of the natural world. The FVRL Birdwatching Backpacks were created in partnership with Wild Birds Unlimited – Vancouver and with support from the City of Delta and Bird Studies Canada.
