Golfers give back again

Continuing with its community service commitments, for the fourth consecutive year the Tsawwassen Men's Golf Club donated food and clothing hampers to six needy families in Ladner and Tsawwassen last month.

Continuing with its community service commitments, for the fourth consecutive year the Tsawwassen Men's Golf Club donated food and clothing hampers to six needy families in Ladner and Tsawwassen last month.

Club president Bruce MacLean and executive members Tom Bearss, Ken Hart and Andrew Connaris delivered two boxes each to three elementary schools: Port Guichon in Ladner, and Beach Grove and South Park in Tsawwassen.

MacLean liaised earlier with school staff about the make-up of the recipient families that each school had designated. He and his wife Erin then organized relevant contents for each box, tailored to each family.

Golf club members contributed 160 pounds of food, clothing, toys and more than $1,000 in donations for this program throughout the golf season.

The principals at each school were delighted to receive the hampers and expressed their sincere thanks to the golf club, noting the families would be very appreciative of the gifts, especially at Christmas.
