Ladner's Kiana Passmore came away with a top 10 finish at the Miss World Canada competition held at the River Rock Casino Resort earlier this month.
"I thought Miss World Canada was a great opportunity to showcase your talents, network, and strive to better the community," she said. "There were many workshops which increased our knowledge on how to empower the world."
Contestants raised money for Variety - The Children's Charity as part of the pageant.
Passmore said her favourite parts of the experience were socializing, being on camera with the media as well as taking part in fundraising events.
Passmore also wanted to thank her local sponsors.
"I would like to thank all the generous sponsors from our community who helped me strive to be the best Miss World Canada delegate I could be."
