Get wet and a little wild this Saturday all for a good cause.

Kick cancer’s A$$! Wet n Wild 720 will be held at Big Splash Waterpark in Tsawwassen on July 20.

The event is being hosted by Carrie Leonard, who lives on Vancouver Island and is marking her 10th year hosting events to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer.

This year funds will go in support of the Volunteer Cancer Drivers, which the Optimist has highlighted extensively the past few years.

Volunteer drivers are needed throughout the Lower Mainland, including right here in South Delta. See more at: https://www.volunteercancerdrivers.ca/.

“I don’t know how to stop cancer or cure it,” Leonard told the Optimist. “These fundraisers I started with my family and friends and are all very personal to me. I am a renal cancer survivor myself. I had the attitude from day one to kick cancer’s A$$. My kidney was removed and I have been inspiring people every day since to encourage attitude and strength towards it.”

Leonard is teaming up with BC Budd Radio, BC Bud Depot and Remo Nutrients for the fundraiser. Tickets are $25, available in Vancouver at BC Bud Radio and BC Bud Depot or on-line at: https://theinvisibleorange.tunestub.com/event.cfm?cart&id=299114.

Tickets will be honoured at the park between 5 and 11 p.m. for this 19-plus event. Entertainment starts at 7 p.m. featuring Funkdoobiest, Antipolitic w/Matt, Buzz Monster w/Remo and other guests as well as a Shayne King magic show. There will be beer gardens, food, silent and on-line auctions, apparel for sale, sponsor booths and water sliding under the stars.
Big Splash Water Slide Park is located at 4775 Nulelum Way, Tsawwassen.
