The staff at KinVillage served a complimentary thank you lunch last Friday to more than half of the 200 volunteers that give time and talent to various programs and events during the year.

This past year, volunteer hours totaled 13,732. Director of recreation John Lusted says according to calculations used by Imagine Canada, that would equate to an annual value of $223,427. Staff members are very grateful for the help they get.

After lunch the group was entertained by Cheek to Cheek, which will also be providing the dance music for an event open to the public on Saturday, May 23. Tickets are on sale now at KinVillage. They are $12 for members and $14 for non-members, and include mid-evening refreshments.
