The Ladner Community Kitchen is hosting its fifth annual Christmas dinner next Monday, Dec. 16.

Police Chief Jim Cessford and his team will be serving dinner to the community from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ladner Christian Fellowship, 5545 Ladner Trunk Rd.

This year organizers have added a few musical performances as well as carol singing. The popular gift table will also return.

Started by Jini Aroon, the Ladner Community Kitchen serves a weekly meal to people who are facing economic hardships due to job losses, various disabilities and even a few homeless individuals.

A team of dedicated volunteers works quietly behind the scenes to serve soup/sandwiches every Wednesday morning to those who come to receive their rations from the South Delta Food Bank.

Aroon says everyone is invited to share the spirit of the season at Monday's dinner.
