Ladner Community Kitchen hosting its annual Christmas dinner

Event set for Monday at Ladner Christian Fellowship

The Ladner Community Kitchen is hosting its sixth annual Christmas dinner next Monday.

Police Chief Jim Cessford and deputy Chief Lyle Beaudoin will be on hand to serve a traditional turkey dinner. Diane Hanson will lead the carols while Pat Rogers will accompany on piano. Delta Police Pipe Band piper John Ralston will also play.

The Ladner Community Kitchen, started by Jini Aroon, operates as an arm of the South Delta Food Bank to offer soup and sandwiches to people that come each Wednesday to

receive their weekly rations from the food bank.

Many low-income seniors, mothers with little children, people who have lost their jobs and those with disabilities are served. A few homeless individuals in the Ladner area also receive help.

The upcoming dinner is open to all food bank recipients and anyone else in the community who would appreciate this opportunity to mingle with others, enjoy a Christmas dinner and the festivities of the season.

The Christmas dinner will be held Monday, Dec. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

at the Ladner Christian Fellowship, 5545 Ladner Trunk Rd. Call 604-946-1967 to reserve a seat.

The kitchen depends on community donations to keep going.
