Let's check out the Ladner Lawn Bowling Club which was first organized in 1916.
Rev. R.F. Stillman was the first president and Mr. W.H. Wilson was the secretary.
In 1917, the name was changed to the Delta Lawn Bowling Association.
Initially, members bowled on the lawn at William Kirkland’s residence.
In 1918, greens were constructed at the Ladner Country Club and a club house erected in 1919.

In 1950, the club was reorganized and incorporated under the B.C. Societies Act as the Ladner Lawn Bowling Club.
The Ladner Ladies Lawn Bowling Club was absorbed by the Ladner Lawn Bowling Club in 1972.
The club is still around today, saying it emphasizes casual recreational play on a drop-in basis.

Its green located at 47th Avenue, the club notes that during the fall and winter there is drop in play every day, weather permitting.
There’s also other activities such as card nights, trivia events as well as special celebrations over Christmas, New Year’s and St. Patrick’s Day.

The club says not only does it bowl, it also has an active social program throughout the year so that members have a chance to know each other.
