Anastasiia Dushyna, a Botanical Pharmacology Specialist, is visiting each of the Delta Libraries this month to talk about medicinal plants.

There will be an opportunity to learn about the best herbs to buy, how and what to harvest and remedy preparation for medicinal and cosmetic purposes.

Dushyna has more than 11 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and knowledge of European medicinal plants.

The first session is tonight (Monday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ladner Pioneer Librarywhen Dushyna will speak about what to choose to make your perfect Apothecary garden. A herbal garden is both beautiful and useful, and that is why participants will learn which herbs to plant, what parts of medicinal plants to harvest and how use it safely. 

On Thursday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Tsawwassen Library, explore the exciting world of the Apothecary Garden at Medicinal Plants: Harvesting and Remedies. Learn about the many herbs and their power to cure, the science of remedies preparation and administration routes. Participants will find how to make a remedy with medicinal and cosmetic properties to heal minor skin wounds, cuts and burns, sunburn, red and inflamed skin and dry skin.

On Thursday, May 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at North Delta’s George Mackie Library, explore with Dushyna the unique cosmetic value of medicinal plants as well as secret recipes you can use at medicinal plants for well-being and beauty.
