Little House and Sharkey's join forces for annual fundraiser

The Little House Society's second annual Jazz and Dinner event hosted by Sharkey's Seafood Bar and Grille earlier this month raised $3,000.

The more than 100 people that attended enjoyed a delicious dinner, fabulous music provided by the Pat Gurr Trio and singer Angie Hurst, perfect weather, a little dancing and a raffle of 80 items.

Seventy-one local businesses donated gifts, which were raffled off during the evening. This money will be used to help pay for the development of educational strategies related to reducing the harm caused by substance abuse and addiction.

Little House president Jim Stimson says the event will be an annual staple.

"It is such a fun evening that I know people are already looking forward to next year. The Little House has been receiving such wonderful support from the people and businesses of Ladner and Tsawwassen, that I just can't thank everyone enough."
