Ladner’s Dave Doroghy and his writing partner Graeme Menzies have just finished their third book in the 111 B.C. travel guide series.

Where can you find the statue of a Nuu-cha-nulth chief? Which great Canadian painter had a monkey as her muse? What are dancing ferries? And how can you play golf with an angry ghost?

In their new guidebook 111 Places in Victoria That You Must Not Miss, Doroghy and Menzies offer up adventures for Victorians and visitors alike to see, taste, and experience the fascinating places, stories, and secrets of British Columbia’s capital city.

From Canada’s tallest free-standing totem pole to the views from the top of a Second World War radio tower, there’s an astonishing array of places to explore across the city.

The home of a former prince and his one true love now opens its doors for a luxurious afternoon tea. A park filled exclusively with native trees and plants is a local outing in the truest sense. There’s a buried time capsule to be opened in 2067, and a yarn store that stocks beautiful, Canadian-sourced wools. A bronze fireman’s helmet marks the grave of a local hero.

This guidebook reveals 111 new ways to explore Victoria, the remarkable city with a British air and the pioneering spirit of modern Canada.

The Vancouver book that the duo released in 2019 recently went into its third printing. It also has been translated into a German language edition. They completed the 111 Places Whistler Book in 2021 and we are now proud to add this latest Victoria book to their collection.

Black Bond Books will be hosting a book signing on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m.
