More than $2,000 raised at Rotary shred-a-thon

More families faced with the increased cost of living and relying on food banks will receive support through $2,613 net proceeds from a Ladner Rotary shred-a-thon on Oct. 15.

So will trees to be funded for planting in Ladner's North 40 Park near Boundary Bay Airport. Despite competing with municipal election day, local residents and business owners showed up on the property behind Eastlink (Delta Cable) on Ladner Trunk Road. Thank you to Delta residents who brought their paper in boxes or bags for shredding on site with a Shred-Wise truck and operator.

Thank you as well to six students from Delta Secondary, who are members of the Ladner Rotary-sponsored Interact Club, who did a lot of the lifting from vehicles and dumping the paper for shredding.
