Snow weekend fun in South Delta

The snowy weekend provided families with an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the winter wonderland.

The snowy weekend provided families with an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the winter wonderland.

The hills at Diefenbaker Park were filled with families sledding, while many others were making snowmen, building forts or having snowball flights.

Several Optimist readers sent us photos of some of the fun.

Jackson and Grace Marriott and her friend Tesora Gray made a giant snowman on Sunday at the Village Park.

According to their mom Laura, who sent in the photos, many drivers who drove by were honking and waving their appreciation for the effort.

The snowman was so big, said Laura, that her husband Jason had to lift Grace up to help put the snowman’s head on.

Anne McConnell and her family who live on 56thStreet in Tsawwassen shared this ‘special’ snowman – Snoopy on his house – that her family created on Sunday, while reader Paul Leisz sent in some photos of the sledding fun at Diefenbaker Park.
