Van Tols are ready to tackle trek again

Ladner's Morag and Johnny Van Tol are gearing up again this year to participate in the B.C. Lung Association's 28th annual Bicycle Trek for Life and Breath.

The trek is an exhilarating two-day, 200-kilometre scenic ride from White Rock to Cultus Lake. The annual fundraiser, which takes place Sept. 8 and 9, is designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist.

Each participant must raise a minimum $475 donation and in return travels a fully-supported route from start to finish with rest stops, accommodation and food to fuel their journey.

Started by a dozen volunteers almost three decades ago, this year's event is expected to attract as many as 400 cyclists who show up rain or shine. Over the years, participants have raised more than $5 million to fight lung disease. Call 1-800-665-5864 or visit www.bc.lung.ca for more information.
