Wreath-making workshops set for Earthwise

Pair of sessions with Sue Earles are being held next week

Get in a festive mood at the Earthwise Farm and Garden with an upcoming Winter Wreath Workshop with Sue Earles.

The hands-on, holidaythemed workshop will teach participants the different aspects of building a winter wreath using natural elements easily found in the backyard, community and on the farm.

Reduce, reuse and recycle by "up-cycling" or repurposing an old Christmas ornament and then learn how to wire wrap it into an accent piece to customize the wreath with family memories the ecofriendly way.

Workshops will be offered on Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Bring your own greenery and any special ornaments you want to use. The rest of the supplies and equipment are provided.

Some bundles of greenery will be available for purchase if needed.

The cost for the workshop is $20 per person. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. If you would like to participate, or for more information, contact Earthwise Society at info@earthwisesociety. bc.ca or 604-946-9828.

While at the workshop, visit the Earthwise Farm Store, which is open from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The store is stocked with certified organic produce fresh from the Earthwise Farm, Westham Island honey and other green holiday gift ideas.

Workshop participants will also want to enjoy a warm cup of Christmas cheer while strolling through the year-round demonstration gardens to see what a winter garden can look like.

The Earthwise Garden and Farm are located at 6400-3rd Ave. in Boundary Bay.
