A classic production gets a twist tomorrow at Memorial Park in Ladner.

Alice into The Portal is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

"You'll see a lot of the same characters but there's a surprise twist ending. We also introduce a lot of new characters and new themes into the show," says Claire Pollock, who's directing the play and also performing as Alice.

One of the twists is the White Rabbit will be played by a dog.

"He's very well behaved," says Pollock.

The cast of about 12 is from the Portal's acting group. They've been working on the production for about three months.

Pollock says the purpose of putting on the show is to give people a chance to act who ordinarily wouldn't have the opportunity.

Show times for Alice into The Portal are 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Portal in Ladner and also available at the door. Tickets are $10 or $5 for children under 13.
