For kids who dream of being in a rock band, or those who just love to jam, there's a summer camp in Ladner.
Guitar Marty's ninth annual Summer Rock Camp begins the third week of June and ends with a performance in November at the Ladner Community Centre, a show that has come to be a community event.
Young guitar players, bassists, drummers, keyboard players and singers from the tween/teen set will be put together in the week-long camps with kids of similar abilities.
The budding musicians will learn everything from the mechanics of becoming a band and learning new songs together to choosing a band name and how to command a stage.
Typically, each band will learn and practice a repertoire of three to five songs to perform on the final night.
