Now that our style of winter weather has come, rats and mice often seek shelter in homes and commercial buildings where they can stay warm and well-fed throughout the season.

When it comes to rodents, it’s important for home and business owners to remember the importance of year round maintenance.

During this colder weather, rodents want to be warm, just like local Delta residents.

It’s important to remember mice and rats will squeeze into any space their heads can fit, which means an opening as small as your baby finger for mice and your thumb for rats.

Signs that you may have an infestation of rodents are: rodent droppings, nesting materials, chewed food packaging, scratching, squeaking, scrabbling, and other strange noises.

Rodents will eat and damage food, clothing, and rip apart insulation, chew through plastic pipes, short circuit wiring and transmit dangerous diseases in their urine, saliva and feces.

Rodents are generally active at night therefore detective skills are required to locate there comings and goings.

Go Green Pest Control urges local Delta residents to take action in order to prevent or remove pest infestations this winter.
