Early birds to the 11th annual Giant Book Sale last week at KinVillage Community Centre in Tsawwassen were able to choose from more than 11,800 titles. The sale’s success, grossing more than $11,000, is due not only to the generous donation of good quality books by the community, but also to the efforts of volunteers. For four weeks, Judith Dinwoodie and a team of a dozen volunteers sorted through all the books, CDs, DVDs, games and puzzles, and guided buyers through the collection during the three-day sale. Molly Hewitt coordinated shifts of 24 volunteers that acted as packers and cashiers. Proceeds from the sale will be put toward the purchase of a new bus for KinVillage residents.
