The South Delta Garden Club welcomes renowned horticulturist and entrepreneur Brian Minter on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
His presentation, set for 7:30 p.m., takes place at Ladner Christian Reformed Church (4594-54A St.). Minter will speak on new plants for food gardening and different growing conditions in Ladner and Tsawwassen as well of the effects that tides have on these growing conditions for both communities.
Since 1972 Minter has been president and co-owner with his wife Faye of Minter Country Gardens in Chilliwack. He has shaded his vast garden knowledge by way of many national and international publications as well as regular radio and television appearances.
Brian Minter’s New Gardening Guidewas a Canadian non-fiction bestseller and is now sold out. He continues to write a weekly garden column for the Vancouver Sun.
Most recently he co-founded Plant a Row, Grow a Row, a national program that supplies food for Canadian food banks.
Due to Minter’s popularity and the anticipated larger audience, South Delta Garden Club members are encouraged to arrive early for his presentation. There will be a $5 guest fee.
Minter will have select plants to sell (cash only) before the meeting.
