Bruno Marti, celebrated chef and former owner of Ladner's La Belle Auberge restaurant, was honoured by Vancouver Community College at the 2013 Outstanding Alumni Awards dinner this week.
Marti received the Honourary Alumnus Award in recognition of his work in the culinary field and for his support of VCC students and faculty.
Marti stresses the importance of education as the critical ingredient in ensuring the future of culinary arts programs.
In addition to winning almost every culinary award imaginable, the Ladner resident has mentored countless young cooks, managed culinary teams, and chaired numerous culinary committees and organizations both in Canada and internationally.
Marti was among five talented and dedicated individuals who were recognized for significant contributions to the community and their areas of expertise.
