Canadian Federation of University Women South Delta set up a one-time CFUW 100th Anniversary Phoebe Hamilton Bursary to recognize a founding member. CFUW South Delta was pleased to award the Phoebe Hamilton Bursary at its January meeting to Olivia Priestlay.

Priestlay is a UBC student in the department of psychology. She is interested in early childhood development and the importance of speech and language as a link between communication and positive mental health.

Hamilton’s daughter Tiffany presented the $4,000 award to Priestlay. She was delighted to present the bursary and spoke about her and her mother’s common interest in this area of study that Priestlay is pursuing.

CFUW South Delta gives bursaries and scholarships to local women every year. Applications for 2020 are being accepted until May 31.
